Your agreement is logged with a timestamp. 2. **Write your profile**: Name, age, city, a photo or avatar, who you are looking for and how serious you are. 3. **See your matches**: Serious people nearest first, with filters for age, seriousness, verified and same city. 4. **Request an introduction**: Your first message is a request. When it is accepted, you can talk freely. ## All features ### Adults-only entry with consent *Who can join Veliane?* Adults aged 18 or older. At the door you choose “I'm female, 18+” or “I'm male, 18+”, and your agreement to the terms and privacy policy is logged with a timestamp. ### Real profiles only *Are the profiles on Veliane real?* Veliane allows real people only: no fake profiles, no false scarcity, no deceptive funnels. Every account confirms its email address, and reported fake profiles are reviewed and removed. ### Permanent name *Can I change my name on Veliane?* No. Your name is set when you join and stays permanent, so nobody can quietly change identity. Enter it carefully. ### Permanent home city, global reach *Why is my city permanent?* Your city is chosen once as your honest home base, so everyone shows a true origin. It does not limit you: your reach is global, and you can match with people anywhere. ### Ready-made profile starters *Do I have to write my profile from nothing?* No. You can start from a ready-made example, such as “Warm & sincere” or “Family-minded”, and rewrite every part in your own words, or start from a blank profile. Examples are marked as examples and are never shown as members. ### Introduction with starter lines *What do I write about myself?* Your introduction tells people who you are, what matters to you and what you hope to find in a partner. Tap a starter line for inspiration, then make it yours. ### Up to 5 photos *How many photos can I add?* A main photo plus up to 4 more, 5 in total, in JPG or PNG. Photos are kept in a private store and shown through short-lived signed links. ### Optional profile video *Can I add a video?* Yes. Paste a YouTube or Vimeo link and it appears on your full profile. A short video makes a profile feel real. ### Intro music *Can my profile play music?* Yes. Paste a YouTube or Vimeo link to play it as background audio without the video, or a direct .mp3 or .wav link. ### Life details *What details can I share?* Relationship status (single, divorced, widowed, separated), whether you were ever married, children with a short note, smoking, drinking, languages spoken and beliefs. Each detail is optional, and “prefer not to say” is always possible. ### Who you are looking for *How do I say who I am looking for?* Set an age range and preferences such as at least 1, 2 or 3 photos, with or without children, and marital history. Preferences put better matches first; they never hide anyone. ### Seriousness scale *How do people show how serious they are?* Everyone picks a point on a scale from “Just curious” through “Open and hopeful” and “Serious, taking it steady” to “Ready to settle down”. You can filter matches by it. ### Matches, nearest first *How are matches shown?* Serious people of the gender you are looking for, nearest first, with filters for age, seriousness, verified and same city. ### Introduction requests *How do I contact someone?* Your first message becomes an introduction request. It lands in their Requests, where they choose Accept or Decline. Once accepted, you can both write freely. ### Private real-time chat *How does the chat work?* After an introduction is accepted, messages arrive in real time. You can reply to a specific message and use emoji. ### Calm chat *Does Veliane show read receipts or typing?* No. There are no read receipts and no typing indicators. Your online status is off by default and appears only if you switch it on. ### On-device chat translation *Can I chat with someone who speaks another language?* Yes. In supported browsers, Veliane detects the language of a message and translates it on your device. Elsewhere, messages simply appear as written. ### Conversation controls *How do I slow down or stop a conversation?* From the conversation menu: mute it, turn on slow mode (one message per hour), silence the person so they cannot send until you allow it again, or block them. ### Pin and archive *Can I organise my conversations?* Yes. Pin important conversations to the top, archive the others, and move them back to Messages at any time. ### Delete for me or for both *Can I delete messages?* Yes. Delete a single message for yourself or for both, delete a conversation for yourself, or delete it for both and unmatch. ### Private contact details *Will others see my phone number?* Never. Phone and WhatsApp are optional and never displayed to other members. You share them yourself, when you choose. ### Free verified badge *What is the verified badge?* A safety badge that is earned and never sold. You can filter matches to show verified members only. Paid options buy reach, never trust. ### Reporting *What can I report?* A fake profile, a scam or fraud, harassment, or abuse. Every report is reviewed by the team, which can send a notice, suspend, ban or remove an account. ### Invisible mode *Can I hide my profile from public search?* Yes. Turn on “Make me invisible” to remove your public listing. Members inside Veliane still see you, and your contact details always stay private. ### City and country pages *What are Veliane city pages?* Public pages that describe a city's community with counts only, never personal data. A city page appears once at least 3 members live there. ### Success stories *Can couples share how they met?* Yes. Members can send their story and choose whether it may be shared. Shared stories are read with care before being featured. ### Installable app *Is there a Veliane app?* Yes. Veliane installs from the browser on Android, iPhone, iPad, Windows, Mac and Linux, and opens in its own window with its own icon. ### Light and dark themes *Does Veliane have a dark mode?* Yes. Switch between light and dark at any time with the theme button. ### 11 languages *Which languages does Veliane speak?* English, Chinese, Spanish, Hindi, Arabic (right to left), Portuguese, Bengali, Russian, Japanese, French and Indonesian. It opens in your device language when available. ### One-step account deletion *How do I delete my account?* Edit profile → “Delete my profile”.
